Custom Valance

Valances are window top treatment. That add a decorative touch. The soft appearance can make any room look more formal. They are also the perfect option when you don't want to block a great view from your window. Valances can be used as a total window treatment or to bring color and texture to any room. Valances alone are often hung over windows where curtains have been installed as a finishing touch. They can also be used to frame a window for a more complete look.This is a great option to hide hardware, architectural flaws, or windows placed at different heights; another use is to soften windows when using blinds, shades or shutters. Valances can add visual interest to any window.

​There are several styles available. Flat Valances can be made flat, with vertical pleats at each corner, or by vertical pleats dividing the valance into sections.

Soft Valance: A simple to elaborate window treatment made with a flat, symmetrical fold sewn in place to create fullness and spaced evenly across the top. The fabric centered folded back of the pleat to show.

Cornice:

Cornices are placed across the top of the window frame and usually mount on the outside of the frame.

Constructed with a board or lightweight material. Padding is then places over the wood and covered with the fabric of choice. Welt can be added for a perfect accent.
